IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program - NZICPA

  • Aged between 18 and 32 years old at time of application and of Indian nationality or holding an OCI card.
  • Possess a valid Indian Class I medical certificate ** (No Limitations), be in good physical condition with appropriate weight and height.
  • Fluent in English – both written and verbal.
  • Have “Unique-I.D.” number/ registration number (U-I.D.) at the time of admission.

*10+2 with minimum score of 51% / Grade Point 6 / Grade C1 – Individually in each subject i.e. Physics / Mathematics / English.
NIOS mark sheet and certificate are accepted with minimum score of 51% in Physics,  Mathematics and English individually.


**Candidates not possessing an Indian Class I medical can apply for the IndiGo program with a Class II medical, however they must possess an Indian Class I medical prior to commencing the program.
Note: Applicants will be required to provide copies or proof of all documentation, certificates, and mark sheets at Interview stage

Classes will be held at Albatross Aviation, Dwarka, New Delhi. The duration is 3-4 months.

Yes. However, we reserve our right to change prices due to unforeseen situations and Force Majure.

You have to clear the exams in the duration of ground school.

Suitable accommodation will be provided in all phases except ground school. The accommodation may be be single or shared. Additional cost applies if your training gets delayed due to unforeseen circumstances.

You will be provided healthy and nutritious meals in New Zealand. These are free of cost and are prepared by an in house cook.

During the type rating phase, one meal a day is provided by the hotel.

During other phases meals are not provided.

We can align you with a Visa Agency but you need to pay for its services.

You need to pay for the Visa. This will be reimbursed.

You need to buy your own tickets for New Zealand. A sum not exceeding NZD 4500 will be adjusted towards this at the end of your training.

You will be appropriately covered for travel and medical insurance overseas.

A school van is provided for cadets in New Zealand.

You will get sufficient time off during the course for rest and leisure. We advise you not to take any vacation during the course  as it may impact adversely on your training duration.

Yes. Uniforms will be provided in New Zealand.

You will have access to top quality sporting facilities, nature trails, well stocked libraries,  a plethora of sightseeing, entertainment and dining options.

You should just carry enough to fulfil your personal needs. On arrival at New Zealand, you can open a bank account where your sponsor can deposit funds. We advise you against carrying cash.

A full time pastoral care person is available to help and assist you. You have access to the best medical facilities and the ACC – ACC is New Zealand’s accident compensation scheme. It provides no-fault personal injury insurance cover to all New Zealand residents, and visitors to New Zealand.

You need to be at your best behaviour, be groomed, correctly turned out and be punctual

Abstain from smoking and drinking. You will be subjected to alcohol breath analyser checks and if found under the influence of liquor, your training will be terminated.

Drugs are a big NO and will lead to immediate removal from training.

You will not lie, cheat or steal and follow an honour code.

The New Zealand CPL requires exam passes (minimum grade of 70%)

against 12 theory subjects in total. Six relate to the Private Pilot License

(PPL), and six to the CPL. An additional three I.R exams will be necessary

for a New Zealand Instrument Rating.

You will more than likely arrive at Auckland International Airport, clear customs, and head towards the Domestic Terminal for a flight directly to Whanganui

on a local carrier, Air Chatham. On arrival you will be met by the NZICPA pastoral care officer who take you to the accommodation where you will be

introduced to the Residential Manager and assigned your accommodation.

The following day you will begin your induction process to get you setup to start your learning journey. You can expect to start with Ground School for your

PPL and you will find that your fellow students will be at various stages of their training.

You will be granted a RTR license in NZ as a part of your training after passing a test. As NZ is a Commonwealth country, the license will be converted to an Indian RTR license once you return to India after your training. 

Theses are the current regulations and might change in future.

We therefore recommend that you obtain an Indian RTR license before proceeding to NZ. Though classes for Indian RTR license are not a part of this program, we can guide you on a case to case basis.

At an IndiGo authorised ATO which could be in in India or overseas.
